Former Obama administration National Security Council official Ben Rhodes posted a death wish for top Republican government officials to Twitter early on Thursday, drawing a rebuke from Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) who was gravely wounded in a Democrat voter’s sniper terror attack earlier this year that wounded three others at a Republican Congressional baseball game practice on June 14.

Rhodes was commenting on a photo from President Donald Trump’s Instagram account that was re-posted by fellow Obama admin alum Dan Pfeiffer of a photo showing a happy, thumbs-up gathering of Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) standing next to a seated President Trump in the Oval Office as they celebrated the passage of the Republican tax cut bill.
Just after midnight Thursday, Pfeiffer wrote of the photo, “I hope this is the photo they use on the front page of the Times on the day Trump is indicted”
